Hi there everyone,

I'm about to build another transportable headphone rig, and I'd appreciate some input regarding the amp. Currently I'm using an ALO Continental V2 with which I'm very happy, but for my 2nd system I'm looking for something with better battery life and perhaps slightly less colored sound. It should be able to drive various full-size headphones - right now I'm using the LA7000, Senn HD600 and T50RPs, but that may change at some point. Also, I'd like the amp to have exchangeable batteries (9V blocks or similar) and/or long battery life (20 hrs +). Additional features such as tone controls or crossfeed would be nice (particularly the latter) but not mandatory.

So far, I'm considering the following amps (not exclusively):
- RSA SR71a
- Leckerton UHA-6S
- Meier Quickstep

- RSA SR71b (has no exchangeable battery, requires re-terminating headphones)
- Alo Rx Mk III (same concerns as SR71b)

I've ruled out the following options:
- Triad L3 (too large)
- Decware Zenhead (too large)
- Upcoming larger Portaphile 627 (rather large and mediocre battery life)

... However, there's so many options on the portable amp market, I'm unsure what to get. Any input on what to choose would be greatly appreciated!
