I'm an entry-level audiophile, so I scoffed when he asked me if he should buy a pair of Bose cans.  He's basically looking for something noise-canceling for planes, trains, etc.  I doubt he could tell the difference between anything, sound-quality wise, so that's not really a concern.  $$ is also not an issue, as long as it's under 300ish.  Ya'll have any suggestions?

The only noise-cancelling I've heard that was actually really good was an Audio Technica IEM model.

When it comes to parents and grandparents who are not sound freaks like I am, this is the one time I recommend Bose.

Honestly, if you're spending up to $300, give him a gift of good sound quality instead, get him the Shure SE425 they will isolate the surroudings very well and sound great!

Yep ok the model number is Audio Technica ATH-ANC23 they sounded good an they're noise cancelling.
