I use headphones all the time for music, and usually for gaming too. But recently I've been looking into getting a set of desktop speakers for my computer. The speakers will be used strictly for gaming only.

Some random notes about what I'm looking for:
  1. Either 2.1 or 2.0. If 2.1, the subwoofer needs to be placed on the floor
  2. Will be used strictly for PC gaming only
  3. Budget around 150 USD, but I can be flexible
  4. Looking for well known brand in regards to audio, I'm a bit sceptical to "gaming brands" like Creative, Logitech, etc.

Any thoughts and recommendations? Without doing much research, I found the Swan M10 to be an option, until I found out the "subwoofer" couldn't be placed on the floor. I have also looked at the Klipsch ProMedia, but seems hard to find in my country.

Edifier is a popular brand in the some parts of the EU. Not sure about your country. You could look into them.

You could also look for used passive speakers and then get an inexpensive t-amp, like the Lepai TA2020.
