Right now I currently own some ATH M50s and a JCV HA-S500. I like them both for on the go listening and such, but I'm looking for some headphones for use in home. I'd like to spend $200 or so, but absolutely no more than $250.

I like bass heavier headphones, but the receded mids on the M50s disappoint me a little. I'd like something balanced, with a wider sound stage than both the headphones I have right now offer. I listen mostly to dubstep, alt rock, jazz, vocals. There are a pair of lightly used HD598 on my local CL for $180. I've also been looking at the DT880/990 600ohm variants because people seem to have a consensuses that they are more refined. The 990 is cheaper but is the bass overpowering or better balanced? I'm a little lost with the large amount of headphones to choose from.

I just built a O2 amp, so I can power some more demanded cans, I'll also be looking to get a ODAC soon (right now I'm using my AVR as a DAC).
