Bose gets incredible mileage out of the name "QuietComfort" and regardless of their sonic characteristics, one must give them credit for catering to a need - comfort. Given the number of comfort issues surrounding some highly regarded phones I thought we might discuss some of our favorites that deliver good sound and comfort. From my experience:

IEM - EP630
Clip on - KSC35
Supra - open - PX100, Mac5, Grado SR80 but only with HD414 pads
Supra - Closed - HP460
Circum - I have none

Add yours.

Let's not forget the Audio-Technica A, AD, and W Series of headphones. Now that's comfort.

And of course the Beyerdynamic DT xx0 and the AKG k240s and k271s.

once you get used to it, i think the sennheiser hd series headphones are quite comfortable. i can wear my hd650 for hours on end. the sony cd3k is another headphone that feels like you're wearing pillows. the most comfortable headphone i've ever used is the qualia010, which seem to disappear after a short while.

Of all the headphones I've tried, the Bose Triport takes the cake when it comes to comfort. So yeah, there's one area where Bose really does a good job. Other areas...well, seems to be improving by the feedbacks I've read on the Bose IEMs.

Since Bose is not selling sound quality most of the time, if they can't even get one thing right, it will be a disaster for them

For comfort, nothing beats the Beyer DT770/880/990. Nothing.

CD3K's have been doin' it for me. Crazy comfort that just seems to get better and better every time you slip them on...
