Denon AH-D7200. No sibilance.
add to that, the baby brother Denon 5200 too. Just had a pair for several years and they arent sibilant for the clarity you get outta em

Would add to the list the Sony mdr-z7s.I am also very averse to sibilance and these are great. Also just got the Denon 5200s and they are great all rounders.A little more treble than the sonys, but still no sibilance.

I am now hesitating between the Sony's (I heard that the model w is slightly better whatever that means...) and the Denon (5200 or 7200). The price difference between the Denons is negligeable where I live. The Sony's are about 25% cheaper. Which way would you go?

Not shure what the Sony w is.
Sorry, typo: Sony z7mk2.

The choice for me is now between:
Sony Z7mk1
Sony Z7mk2
Denon 5200
Denon 7200
E-mu Teak

I am looking for a good amount of bass and ZERO sibilance or harshness

I don't know if there is a such thing as 0 sibilance, TBH. A lot of it also has to do with recording quality. Don't ignore amps either. I've had several headphones that were too sharp/sibilant on some amps and became bright and sparkly but not sibilant on other amps. I recommend getting a warmer and smoother headphone first, but if you pair it with the wrong amp(s) for it, it might still be sibilant. Good luck!
