will this work with my ipod classic 160gb? can i use my fiio L9 cable on this? will it bypass my ipod internal dac as well as internal amp?

It will not bypass the internal dac. If you want to bypass the internal DAC, try get a CLA Solo or HP-P1

Alright, had hope that it would be a cheaper and more portable solution than the hpp1... even if I don't mind the price of hpp1 it still looks pretty hefty for portable use and the clas is almost as expensive and as far as I know doesn't include an amp, strictly a dac. There's no real cheaper and more portable solution?
