The story goes like this.

I have the following rig:

Amp: Leben CS-300 (with Sylvania tubes)
CD player: Esoteric UX-1
DAC: Yamamoto YDA-01
Loudspeakers: Zu Druid
Subwoofer: Zu Method
Cables: Zu Varial, Zu Method and spanish made power cords.

Music preferences:

Rock, electric blues. Especially music with Hammond B3 and Fender Rhodes sound.

I have to say that I really love the sound of my system as described.

But, there is always a "but", two weeks ago I bought a second hand pair of ATW-W1000 headphones and when I first connected I found out the bass was very shy. By this I mean with less body when using the loudspeakers and sub. I have to say that in order to get more bass I have to use the amp with the +6db bass boost position. In the other hand, I have to admit that the micro detail in the mids and highs delivered by the headphones is fantastic.

Just in case, I let the headphones "breaking in" for 50 hours the first week. And, still the bass was and is too weak for my taste.

I´m asking you all, with lots of experience with this amp and headphones, if I have to be patient and wait for any bass improvement in the furure or if I have to forget about those headphones and search for another ones.

Greetings from Spain.

Daniel

The W1000 is not a bassy headphone. I'd suggest selling it for a W1000X, which has much more bass.

Bass on the W1000's doesn't extend very deep. They are not bass monsters.
