They did note that there were no Class D headphone related components. But the jump to K? No clue.

Class K is for products that show promise of being a recommended component, but that have not yet been formally reviewed by Stereophile.

That's what Stereophile notes in its explanation of each class, but what the hell happened to all the letters between E an K?

Because if they used "F" it would imply "below E" -- by using a letter that is clearly disconnected, its meaning is less confusing
