k1000 owners club

Still thoroughly enjoying both of my K1000's. One driven by a Lyr+ and the other by a First Watt F1.

With the exception of the Mysphere, there's nothing like them.

I’ve heard so many people talk about the amazing synergy between the k1000 and the F1 that I wouldn’t be surprised most k1000 owners have gobbled up all 100 of these amps that were made.

I don’t own a k1000 but I do have a F1 and plan on selling it. If anyone is interested dm me! These only pop up used about once a year and they sell very quickly based on all the previous usaudiomart sold listings.

High everyone!

Finally, I'm in the club.
I allways was curious about this headphone, because it shure is something complete different.

I got a good deal on a pair of these from a local selling site.
Searching for some info about my purchese I found this thread and saw mentions about serial numbers.
I did not find any on my K1000s and so I called the seller.

Hold my beer :sunglasses: !
He was the photographer who took the presentation pictures for AKG decades ago and got one pair of ten prototypes.
You want it? You would have to snatch theses cans from my cold, dead hands .

Btw: My trusty, old Sennheiser HDVA 600 has no problems to drive the AKG K1000 to insane levels.

Great! This story is great and can be true as well. This is because the first prototype run had no numbers, but on both sides the AKG logo. True for thís one as well?

Happy to see that you got the 'black box' version with guaranteed early low SN or Prototype with the 'better' bass impact.
I've been listening to my Sennheiser HE 60s for the past few months - think I'll switch to my K 1000's to start the new year.
An incomparable listening experience.

Happy new year everybody!

Had some time today to take some pictures:
It seems I am a big fan of earspeakers :)

K1000 logo on both sides and no serial number.
The cable goes to the back. Have not seen this.
Hadband has the AKG and Austria embossing.
Cables for amplifier: three brown and a green one.
Box is black with no "K1000" anywhere.

And now: everybody back to listening music!

Congratulations!
It is very difficult to buy such an early pair in such good condition. It can easily take months or even years now and cost up to 2000-3000 dollars.
If the seller is really that guy who took the propotional pictures for the brochure, then he did a pretty good job. The headphones look gorgeous on those photos.

I myself have always wondered about the pair with the white logo from that brochure. I've probably seen hundreds of pairs over the years, but never one with the white logo. How many of them were made? Were they ever for sale or it is a pre-production run? Who knows...
