Seems too good to be true, especially on a new model.

I'm waiting for my to reach the 500 hours too, the sound may change so we can say how they sound exacly

Do different types of headphones need different amounts of time? I've seen alot of people say 200 hours but many have said 50-80 hours for IEM's (atleast from the posts).
This is the first time I've seen someone say 500 hours.
Is it because its a wood composite type of driver?

Dynamic drivers takes longer to burn in

But I thought that most everything has a dynamic driver other than planar magnetics or balanced armatures. Like my 1 more triple driver is a dynamic + 2BA. Most IEM's have atlesat 1 Dynamic from what I have seen.
So these rules apply to all of those?

Dynamic drivers have bigger diaphragm to flex compared to BA drivers

I've heard about the 500 hours from this thread too and it's just me talking to JWbrent that's all, I think not many people have passed the 500 hours mark with the FW01 though, so it may be not true at all that the number 500 hours is the burn in time of th FW01. Actually I dont care much about the burn in time, because my FW01 already sound so good right now. I think someone else can answer this question better than me.

I saw that you've tried the iSines. How are the FW01 compared to the iSines with Cipher?

I saw that you've tried the iSines. How are the FW01 compared to the iSines with Cipher?

The sound of FW01 has more weight and thicker, the bass hit harder and has more body.
The iSine20 offer a bigger soundstage, better instrument seperation, but sounds thin compared to the FW01. (the Isine10 and 20 probably have the biggest soundstage of all the iems in the market now )
Both are neutral to dark and smooth iems. iSines are easy to wear, FW01 is not the most comfortable iems, but the comfort level is better than the old JVC FX model.

Both have one thing that I think far above average namely the capability to create a coherent and flowing sound. many people say they like the Fitear TG334 because the flow of music they reproduce, I would say both iSine20 and FW01  are excellent in this department.

To me, I use my FW01 for all the music genres, they are better than the isine10,20 in genres like hiphop, rnb, all bass-heavy music, fast tempo music, rock, indy some pop, something exiting.
I use the iSine20 when I listen to jazz, folk, vocal , something relaxing (I've found the iSine20 is a little bit bass light )

p.s. I've never used the iSine with cypher cable because I dont have iPhones, so cant answer your question

So I love the FX1100, but now the question becomes: should I spend $450 on the FW01. @jwbrent has been very helpful in the comparisons, but I'm still on the fence! Perhaps a more neutral, accurate sound is what I'm after in a single dynamic driver configuration. I have tons of BA-based IEMs, but love that JVC smooth sound. Ahhh, decisions decisions.

If you bought the FX1100 back in '14, then the FW01 in '17 isn't too bad. The various impressions of the FW01, sound like what you're looking for.
