Was going to do the full works to them with a mogami 2893 recable in techflex with a switchcraft 3.5mm but it ended up totalling like £50 for the cable (£10 postage for like £10 worth of techflex which weighs nothing, What? ), not really worth it on a $100 pair of cans so I just modded the grills and put some felt lining inside the chambers.
First impressions are treble seems a bit more airy and bass is reduced by just a little. Could just be placebo though to be honest... mod took quite long and wasn't really worth if I'm honest but atleast I put some sweat into them now
Old pic:
New pic: [different room, different lighting]
edit: Oh and also something I noticed was the left chamber was slightly wonky from manufacture (one side of the chamber was raised up higher than the other) so I got to fix this when I sealed them up myself and made them match exactly to size of the right channel's chamber
and yeh they are green HD414 pads (I have another thread about those lol)
