I think people are overreacting a bit about the sweat... with the K271S, the sweat is not all that much to take even in hot weather. It also helps with the seal.

The nice thing about (p)leather over velour is that when you sweat you can wipe it off. I'd rather have that than velour pads soaking up the sweat and getting all nasty.

yeah but the velour pads are deeper, so your ears don't contact as much.. and sit inside instead of touching the pleather etc.
