Hi guys, I'm completely new to the community here.

I just received my JVC-Harx900 from Amazon.com today, and I noticed that the wire that connects to my earcup is "loose" in a way. You can pull the wire out and also push the wire back in (almost 4-5 feet, too scared to try more). Is this normal? Or is this a defect. Am I supposed to be able to push the wire into and pull the wire out of the earcup? The wire does not completely come out of a earcup, there is a stopping point.

Thanks guys.

Also, forgot to add that if I turn my head to the left (where the cord enters earcup, I will hear a slight creak). However, I still get sound in both ears. I just don't want it giving out very soon. Thanks

On my RX900, the cable is 3.5m long, excluding plug. I can't push the cable into the cups at all, though.

I think I'd return them. Here's the baffle of my RX900. You can see that these cans really weren't designed to have a retractable cable.
