Is it just me or STAX is not so popular in Head-Fi?

I mean, they have pretty a lot of entry level w/ SRS series, around $600 to $1,000 for a earspeaker and dedicated amp. Why don't I see a lot of thread about those systems, Appreciation, STAX vs some top of the line dynamic headphones etc...?

An example: Should I go for DT880/600 w/ Woo 6 or STAX SRS 2050 II?

By saying that you mean $600-$1000 range for a SRS system can't beat dynamic headphones w/ matched amp?

High-end lol. I don't even dream about those

Who's said that???

In my opinion the Stax SRS-2050II system is fantastic value for money, and very hard to beat in its price range.

I'm actually contemplating getting an entry level Stax SRS 2050 system or building a dynamic rig. There aren't that much info about these as it seems that folks here normally go for the older lambda pros or they just get the more expensive omegas.

I think he means dynamics vs srs systems - the sr-007 costs a fair bit more than the top of the line dynamics.

I just guessed so because you pointed me directly to High-End forum. That make me thought that once people go STAX, they don't bother w/ entry level

I think so. That's why I'm suprised when I can find threads about D5000/D7000, DT880/T1, HD600/650/800 etc... everywhere but when I do the search on STAX, results are kinda from 2008.

That's exactly what I'm wondering. It's easy to understand why people go for a $400 can + $400 amp + $200 DAC rather than go for a $1,400+ electrostatic + $2,000 dedicated amp for electrostatic. But it's more dificult for me to understand why people normally go for dynamic cans w/ tubey or SS at the same price range w/ SRS systems.

I thought it was sku... whats that brand? It comes up sometimes.. skull..something i dunno...

:p But most people here are mid-fi'ers like myself. I'm hoping DT880/600 will be my endgame home headphone. Amp and DAC wont necessarily be. If the amp is satisfactory for these headphones, i'm just going to upgrade my DAC to something more convenient (current DAC has an inconvenient design... RCAs are at the front <_<)
