Ok last night i was playing around with my 6th Gen Ipod and decided to check the equalizer settings, I found that i have been running the Rock setting within the equalizer docked to my MKV. Seeing this i turned the equalizer off to Flat and it made a dramatic change to my music, Bass/High's etc.

Will having the equalizer set to the Rock setting degrade my ALAC rips SQ at all..??

Should i just change it back and be content with the way it was or maybe sell it off and look into a KECES 151/Laptop setup to go with my MKV and 990's...?? For some odd reason since this has happened ive had a bad upgraditis urge.

Well, first I have to say the topic title is very confusing and misleading.

Second, the "Rock" EQ is just an adjustment of frequencies; it is about personal taste and decision whether it suits your mood better than "Flat."

The whole point of a Topic title is to get someone interested into reading it.

You sort of answered my questions Mule, but im more inclined to find out if the Equalizer degrades my Sound Quality from the ALAC files and if i should maybe upgrade my source to get the most out of my LD MKV.

Cheers
