Indeed, even if this was the best sounding headphone amplifier ever created, that volume knob would make me sad every time.

Ive designed my own pre amp to go with my Chord gear.. i want to grab something when doing my adjustment🤪

Is that an actual analog volume pot? Hope it's not one of those tiny deals and it's a relay.. what a massive design blunder.

Oh, well.. guess it's a 9mm pot then.

Marvelous!! That seam is practically invisible. Did you use dowel pins for alignment?
Nope. The housing is brushed finnished in assemled form ..then annodized. Knobs are sandblasted

The tiny volume control is one of the most basic errors I have ever seen in the user interface of an electronic device. I don't understand how a company like SMSL could have let this product come out with such a glaring error. Perhaps cost reduction has gone too far?

IMO you've captured the Chord look nicely. Was this very expensive to build?
