Another Shanling product with high output impedance.
Just like the Shanling M5 ultra, it can unfortunately be a problem for many of my IEMs.
I had the M3Ultra which has an output impedance below 1ohm. Great product!! But, I don't understand the reason for having an output impedance above 4ohm in products like DAPs, which can and are most often used with IEMs.

But, aesthetically it is a beautiful product!

It's most likely a closed android OS kinda like the UI on Astell&Kern players which can also be rooted too.

Nobody wrote MtouchOS, so who knows?

It has nothing to do with Android. It's standalone Linux based system Shanling has been using since 2018.

It's the same system as used on Shanling M5 Ultra. We provide ONIX with our software for their machines.

Well that's certainly good to know and reassuring.

You make a good point, this one isn't really suitable for low impedance IEMs, luckily there are plenty of 20-30 ohm IEM options. I wonder how many people do actually use IEMs with DAPs though? I'd imagine more people than use DAPs with IEMs than full size headphones but I'm not so sure based purely on reading threads on Head-Fi.

High and low gain mode is a welcome addition as there are a lot of 110+dB sensitivity IEMs around these days.

Wish it was an Android based system to be able to listen to my locally saved Tidal library.

I use my DAPs only and exclusively with IEMs. My headphones are all open back. I'm not going out there with them... For them, I use Desktop Amp. But, maybe it's just me, isn't it? The last two DAPs launched by Shanling have this output impedance a little higher than normal. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be very useful to me. I sold my M3U and since then I've been waiting for a release to keep my DX300 company. I want something smaller for easier portability. I like Shanling's products, but it looks like I'll have to wait a little longer for the next launches.
