I'm in "final shopping mode"...most of the entertainment computer is on the way, but I need to to get a good (enough) audio card with at least 5.1 SPDIF/Toslink out to my AV receiver and RCA (or good other) analog out to my stereo amp. Headphones not needed...My ears can no longer take them.
The Xonar essence looks great, but I just wanted to check here if there was a card that was either better at the same price or cheaper and just as good, or nearly so.
Any suggestions?
PS: I'll be trading in my Squeezebox SB3 on this so if anyone needs to trade....
