The LP6 Platinum JP Edition is back from volume pot upgrading, new battery and a new coaxial.
Just enjoying it with music streaming out of the Shanling M9+, using the Luxury & Precision WY1 cable which allows the LP6 Plat to charge from the portable battery at the same time.
For those interested in learning more about the LP WY1 cable, there is a short write up about the WY1 cable here: https://www.facebook.com/1000649013...747wk3c7778En1JKaqY5WySYN78JYhxg7wfDpiGQUul/?

It is also very practical. I tried this set up listening the entire evening. The battery pack I had was only down to 90%, and the LP6 Plat was fully charged when I stopped listening around 1130pm. So, this seems like a great set up for when I fly if I want to listen to songs that I have downloaded onto the M9+.Indisputable luxury setup it is

Just sharing some photos of the LP6 Platinum JP Edition. There were only 20 issued for the Japanese market and tuned specifically for ACG. The lacquered wood used was different as well. Similarly for the matching leather case. Because it is a JP Edition, the UI is in Japanese only.

Spending some time with the P6Pro Ti with the WY1 cable: streaming out of the M9+ and powered by a portable battery. So the P6P Ti does not feel left out now that the E7 has arrived.

Does anyone know if/when an LP7 might be forthcoming? Or is the P6 Pro or E7 the next update in the series?
Not for another year apparently, if that.Does anyone know if/when an LP7 might be forthcoming? Or is the P6 Pro or E7 the next update in the series?

With the US embargo, it made things very unpredictable.

Chinese Semiconductors ->USA = 100% tariffs in 2025.
US Semiconductor to China…pretty sure that’s straight up restricted to what generation they can use. Either way L&P will have issues with sourcing chips. And the tariffs could make this an extremely expensive product in the US.

Such a shame, but I guess LP invested too much in their intel design to move on.Chinese Semiconductors ->USA = 100% tariffs in 2025.

They could just incorporate in Taiwan and bypass all of this.

Thanks all for your replies. Pity about the restrictions; looks like it will be a long wait. The LP6 would be my dream DAP, but the lack of a search function is a deal-breaker (can live without streaming, connectivity etc, but with a 20K+ track library, a search function is a must). Hopefully the next generation, whenever it's released, will have a search function.
