I've tried to google and search this forum for some time now to find an answer to this. I see lots of you guys mod your iPod. But what does it do? What's the point of modding? Why pay hundreds of dollars?

Why pay -> Because you want it and can't do the modifications yourself.

they say they WILL NOT ever do any mods on the Touch etc because they do not contain the Wolfson DAC ... is that actually true ??
