I always use a VM for dubious exe that extract non-exe files.
Good to ken. How's that aforementioned "look" going, since I have precisely the same issue as technobear, and other iFi users must experience it as well?
I've sent the driver installer file to the Windows Defender Security Intelligence Team at Microsoft for further analysis. In the meantime, the only way to download and run it is to disable the anti-virus while you do it. The driver itself, once installed, is fine. It's only the installer that is causing issues.

These false positive alerts you both experienced are a rare thing. But if you need our latest drivers in a .zip file, just shoot us a PM and we'll deliver.
My submission seems to have had the required effect. The Windows Defender Team have confirmed that the file is not malware AND Microsoft Security Essentials is no longer complaining about the file. Hurrah!
Thanks for offering! I'll need a zipped file of the drivers in order to navigate the idiosyncrasies of corporate security, so expect a PM.
In this way, iFi audio, you will make a noble contribution to the cause of sonic hedonism. White-collar grunts must find an escape from the monotony that causes entire offices to grunt in unison, and pleasure-inducing sound is the very thing to drown out all that irksome woofing and yipping.

I have made an account just so I can tell you this was the best hifi read. This was was af to read, keep being yourself sir. :,DThanks tons for that! The .RAR file didn't get flagged by Symantec, which is a quite spiffy thing.
I still have to wait for final approval from Interior Tergiversations before installing the drivers. In the meantime, perhaps I'll grow a Dali-upcurled mustache.
