Indeed, nothing wrong with the procedure you detailed.

My message is to @iFi audio , it's important they have feedback.

I'll open a ticket with support.

Forgot to mention that phone and pods were charged 100%, by the way.

Sure :)

I went to the iFi Download Hub ----> https://ifi-audio.com/support/download-hub/
I entered the Serial Number of my GO Pod
I downloaded the latest Firmware and the latest GAIA App APK on my laptop
I transferred both files on my S23 Ultra
I uninstalled the previous version of the GAIA App and rebooted my phone
I installed the GAIA APK
I installed the new Firmware

:)

PS: I think that iFi should definitely offer this App on the Google Play Store and definitely alert/inform the user about the Firmware updates
@Nick24JJ Which program did you use to install the GAIA APK on your phone? I get an error when I try to open it with the Package Installer on my Samsung Galaxy S22 +

The error I get is "App not installed as package appears to be invalid"

Edit - sorted, I hadn't uninstalled the GAIA app from phone before installing new version.

Glad you got it sorted :)

To install an APK you just tap on the file and accept the installation. One day iFi Audio has to offer a proper App on Play Store, which will notify about new Firmware updates and auto-update itself, too.

I managed to install the new GAIA app.
Running it and connecting to the GO Pods - I see:

So... how do I upgrade to the new FW (that I downloaded)? I see no such option / button / etc.

To update the firmware go to Settings ---> Software Update. Locate the firmware file and tap it to install it

Initially, I did not have that option, but after rebooting my phone again, and retrying - it worked!!! Thanks

Please let us all know if you do! The more thoughts and impressions we all get the better!

Cheers!!

PS: I have not heard back from Tech support on the previous question, and am checking other sources!

Anyone tested this?
Hello,

At the moment the GO Pods are capable of 24/96 resolution.

Although it has been noted that the 24/192 of LHDC may be possible in the future, no time frame was given for it to come to the GO Pods...

Hope this helps you out!

Cheers!!

Hey Folks and update on the 4 taps to power off...

With our apologies, what happened is there was a miscommunication between different Teams on exactly if this was included in the new update and then posted incorrectly in some places that it was.

We sincerely apologize for this mix-up and are working to bring this functionality to you.

Cheers!!

Thanks. Meanwhile - would be nice if the new app version would be released for iOS too.

I have one on the way. I need advice regarding the IFi Go Pod’s adapter connections. Does my Sennheiser IE600 use the MMCX or the two pin adaptors? I’ve read some of the “supplied ”appropriate connectors don’t work as intended. So buyers have to rech out to IFI for the updated adapter. Is this correct?

Sennheiser ie600/ie900 use a propietary mmcx connector. They aren't standard ones.

So it's not that iFi needs to update, but the ie600 would require special adapters. Hopefully your new package includes that extra Senn-mmcx adapter.
