Hello all,

This is my first post here, in your website and I'm glad to say that your site and your threads are really detailed, helpful and comprehensible (to some extent) by anyone [no matter if he is a specialist or just a person who's interestred in buying such an IEM (me) ]. Well, as the title of my thread "states" I'm searching for IEMs that cost $60-$75. Of course I have a lot of choises but firstly I need your ideas 'cuz I know NOTHING about IEMs apart from some generalities, secondly 'cuz I do NOT live in USA so I will have my IEMs shipped to my country and for some IEMs the cost for the shipping is high enough! Oh, also, I prefer IEMs with enhanced Bass...

Thanks...

EDIT: Sorry for my english

RE0 comes to mind, though it can be a bit over the mark depends on the shipping. If you use ebay with bing, using US as a reference, it's only 5 dollars shipping and it comes to about 78 dollars total. Amazon has a sale on UE 5vi today for 60 dollars at

All I can think of in that range on the top of my head... I'm a noob too :)

Edit: O also look in the headphones for sale forum here.

Bad idea. Definitely no enhanced bass there.

I'd recommend the ViSang R03/Brainwavz M2 (same thing). Both ship worldwide, the former off ebay and the latter from mp4nation.net.

First of all thank you both for your immediate answers  Also, I would like to ask ljokerl 3 questions: 1) ViSang and Brainwavz are two differnet companies that made a product together? Or is it the same company with two names? 2) R03/M2 have enhanced bass 'cuz here --> http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/450407/multiple-iem-shootout-v-3 it gives (at Brainwavz M2) 3 stars for treble, 3.5 for bass and 4 (!) for mid ? 3) I live in Europe. Can I have my products deliverd here from ebay.com or amazon.com?

Thanks again..... I'm waiting for more replies :)

1) ViSang is a manufacturer. Brainwavz is a brand name. The Brainwavz is just a re-brand of the R03 with a different plug (angled vs straight).
2) Yes, the R03/M2 are quite far north of being flat; the RE0 is almost perfectly flat to my ears. My review of the R03 is in my signature.
3) Both the ebay seller (lionking something) and mp4nation ship worldwide. Amazon.com will not ship internationally but you won't find these on there anyway.

But here --> http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_navbox_596184_ways?nodeId=596194 it says that products can be shipped worlwide? I'm wrong? Also I think (maybe I'm wrong) that ebay can't ship products worldwide :\. Help me

EDIT: Also i liked ThinkSound tso1 (thunder). What do you think about 'em? But, finally, I saw that if I'll order 'em from their website (www.thinksound.com) I have to pay $74.99 for them and $26 for shipping so I decided to buy them from somewhere else. I thought  ebay and amazon but I have the impresion that these websites do NOT "have" international shipping :frowning2:

I'm sure amazon ships some things internationally but AFAIK not headphones/earphones.

Whether ebay ships internationally is entirely at the seller's discretion. The seller of the R03 ships internationally at a flat rate. Some of the Thinksound retailers ship internationally but at high markups.

The TS01 is nice but it's not on the same level as the R03/M2.

Oh and sometihing else. Do all these earphones worth their money or do they have the same quality for example with the typical iPod headphones (earbuds) I use? What I mean is that if I'll buy a pair of these headphones will I enjoy my music responsibly (from my Pod with music 192kbps-320kbps) or will I have the same resuts with the other typical headphones? Furthermore, I know ( 'cuz I read) that M2 / R03 have a better sound quality but I'm afraid of their quality in general (build, etc) and for their comfort ( because they're nothing else but plastic). Finally I was just interested to buy ts01 because of thiksound's whole concept and because aesthetical they're by far cooler than the others...

EDIT: Can you also find me (of course if you have the time and the willing) some dealers from where I can buy ts01 cheap but also be sure about the dealer's services (maybe you have some previous experience with 'em) For example I found that: http://cgi.ebay.com/Thinksound-TS01SLV-10mm-Wooden-Headphone-slvr-chr-/230454786623?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35a82cfa3f and as I see it "says" that ships worlwide...

:thanks:

Fischer Audio Eterna or Silver Bullet are another option

Yep. I do not know if bullet is a good choise, but for eterna I heard a lot of good comments. Although now at e-shops they sell a reversion (call it rev.2 I think) and I have heard that they're not better from the older ones, maybe they 're worse and for that reason I wait for more reviews and viewes. Moreover some others suggested me to bue the HeadDirects Re2 but they're too ...chinese and I'm not interested in buying them (also their too cheap as far as their compared with the ones stated above :\

p.s. Do not forget to answer me the question I posed at post #10

Thanks

First of all, it seems like you have already made up your mind. If you really want someone to help you with your purchase, be open-minded. Don't assume this and that.

Superficially there are a lot of "cooler" phones out there, this is definitely not the place for that. Though you will get comments similar to such like "Oh, these phones sound great, and they look great too". Note that the appearance of IEMs is mostly not considered an issue here (key word sturdy). If a pair of phones sounds fantastic but they look generic, given that other important factors are also considered, they'll buy them.

On the issue of Chinese products, I and many of the Head-fiers will testify that they are of excellent value and quality and can compete with any other major brands, not to mention great customer service. Specialised Chinese goods are very competitive, unlike their generic counterparts sold mainly in discount storesoverseas. Don't forget the field of technology and innovation is rapidly emerging in China, where many of the techno, R & D conferences or shows are held there. China, in many respects, is catching up with Japan and America at an unimaginable rate, next thing you know may be China has already gone beyond the developed world, who knows? Many people speculated that 10 years ago, it will happen in the following 20-50 years. So, now it's only other 10-40 years away until China becomes the second super-power after America. Then in a few more years, India will be the next up.

Let me this old newbie tell you how this forum works.
Step 1: state your tastes and preferences along with a budget
Step 2: people here respond with several viable options
Step 3: you could choose the best out of those or supplement/restrict your requirements until the choice is narrowed down.

But always be open to suggestions.

Fischer Audio is Russian made, but so what? If it's good, it's good.

Before I go, (sorry for rattling on and on) “too cheap” on its own is not a reason to not buy something. If you are here on this forum long enough, you will find pricier doesn't make it better. You can have phones that can cost a fair bit but not as good as the much cheaper ones, Monster Beats comes to mind anyone?

Please don't take this the wrong way, just my 2 cents.

I've recently bought a whole bunch in the price bracket your looking at, so let me comment on my experiences with them:

  1. Head-Direct Re0s: Most detailled sound I've ever heard. The bass is precise, quality-wise, but there ain't a lot of it.
  2. Fischer Audio Eternas: They're too bass-heavy for me thus far. I'm still not sure if it isn't just my sources, so I'm holding back on a final judgement for the time being.
  3. Cyclone PR1Pro: Bass is there and spot-on, overall sound is smooth for lack of a better word. Unfortunately, they're out of production but are sold from time to time on head-fi's buy/sell forum.

Give the Cyclones a try, if you get a chance. I haven't received the M2s yet, so I don't know how they'd compore to the Cyclones in particular.
btw, I'm in Europe too, so I can feel your pain. There must be some serious import taxes on audio gear, amazon's shipping rates are ridiculous. I bought all of the aforementioned IEMs used on head-fi, they were approx. 50-70 US Dollars each, including shipping. Way cheaper than to get them from an "official" US source.
