My Westone 4 recently was accidentally left inside the pocket of my shorts and my wife washed it with the laundry. It was stored inside a little cloth pouch, but I don't think that will prevent water from seeping through. 
 
Anyway, she didn't realize what had happened until after it's already been washed and tumbled in the dryer. She discovered it when the cloth pouch fell out of the pocket while folding laundry. 
 
Now, the right channel is much quieter than the left channel, but otherwise, everything else seems normal. 
 
I've emailed Westone but haven't gotten a reply yet. 
 
I'm just curious if this has happened to others before, and if there is a remedy to "fix" the channel imbalance.

It's not ideal but you could boost the volume of the affected channel with software.

Put it in a bowl of rice, and leave in an airing cupboard for at least 24 hours.  If all else fails, then you at least have an excuse for an upgrade

If draining will have no effect, most likely you need to replace acoustic dampers.
