Hello

Number #267 here.
I own a MAX since thursday. I buy it from a Tellement Nomade (The French audiophile forum) member. He bought him as refurbished the 1st november. But the MAX was almost new. Just opened for testing purpose.

So the MAX is already Lurkered.
I already have the ibasso DX200 and DX220 with Amp 3, 4S, 5, 8 and 8 mod.
I mostly spend 4 full days on the burning process. Most the time connected to AC adaptater.

Today, i detect a probably battery issue.
This morning, with UAPP on random on the internal storage, start with 100% Android battery, i fall at 8% around 3-4H after. The screen was off. dac volume 130 and analog volume at 11H.
This afernoon, after a quick charge, i start Neutron at 82%. Sequential play with one album. Same volume settings and 4.4 output. I down to zero in 3 Hours.

For the Amp battery, i just down to 40%.

I am doing a test now with Mango os, same album, same iems (Nocturnal Eden) but on the 3.5 output. I will share the results.

I have already contact the distributor. But do you thik i should contact Paul ?
And can I expect a battery remplacement .? I dont want a refund cause the Max is a great dap, maybe the greatest i have listened to (but i dont listen to WM1Z, Sp2k..)

Thanks for your advice

What resolution are you using? The higher the resolution the faster the dac battery goes down but that is too fast. I have the WM1Z, it doesn't compare to the Max. IMO the Max is better in every way and to me, the WM1Z is a very fine dap and I enjoy it. I would charge to 100% for both battery sections.

Removing Lurker won't solve this problem,. I would send a pm to Paul from Ibasso. This sounds like a defect battery.

At last I know what DX220Max sound like...

With Solaris, un noticeable Hiss... but a bit imbalanced in low volume, need to lower the Player Volume around 20%...
Quite netral... to be fair, BX2 still more powerfull... and yet the stack is not as heavy as DX220Max...
I am Happy....

The imbalanced in low volume is due to analog potentiometer. It happens to all analog pots, even RK501 do too but very little. Yes, Max chassis is Stainless steel . I am glad you finally could try it out. How was the soundstage as per your curiosity ?

HUGE......
And the detail quite revealing...
Quite unsuppected sound sig, it makes DX223 + BX2 sound warmer, compare to DX220Max
