Hi! I've got the Ibasso D1 and I'm thinking about buying a LD MKIII. What is the best way to connect them if I'd like use the Ibasso D1 as a DAC?

Great combo! Hookup the D1 to a USB port. Using a stereo mini-to-RCA cable, plug the a stereo mini into the auxiliary output of the D1 on the front panel to the RCA inputs at the rear of the MKIII.

Yes the dac part really is good. When I first got it I used it to feed a Xin Reference but in the end I could not be bothered to travel with 2 boxes and sold the Reference as the D1 amp part was not that far behind with the right opamps and with the dac part it clearly beat lineout from the pcdp into the Reference.

Have to say I have tried PC > USB > iBasso D2 > LD III and was disappointed with the sound. The combination was pretty much the worst of both.
