As the title says, I am looking for some woodies when it comes to headphones, as the aesthetics are pleasing to my eye

Problem is, which one should one go for?
They should be transportable, as they will spend some time between my office and my home.
Office listening will be trough my nano wiht lod and boa as amp.
At home, music through my pc and boa as dac/amp.
Music styles vary a lot, but rock/rap/pop are my main interests, even though some classical will be enjoyed to. I like bass, but I am not a "bass-head", just want it to be there.
Any suggestions?

Uh... Audio-Technica ATH-ESW9 are $310 on audiocubes or might be cheaper on pricejapan? Or... I guess ATH-EW9's for around $200? Those are the only two off the top of my head that even fit your price range.

Yeah, I have been thinking about the esw9's as well, but have been a little put off by comments like mostly string/classical music.

I think they are better on rock than on classical, but they are pretty good general purpose headphones - I thought they would be ideal for your quoted listening tastes.

Well, unless someone with d5000/w5000 is willing to part with their 'phones for usd300 I guess I will place an order this evening. For the moment, with 30degrees in the shade, it is too warm to hunt down my credit card (hidden by my wife after I joined head-fi).

Then I received an e-mail from PriceJapan that the esw9 will be shipped today, and they even provided me with a tracking number

Now, for the wait and the anticipation of my new toy
