@mythless--what are you opinions on the Koss Porta Pros? I've heard different things about them. I'm not sure what to think.

They're great for their price, I think I paid $30-$50 Canadian shipped to my door, which is a stellar price back then. However, they don't get much use, I mostly listen to my RE0 and MS1i primarily, but once in awhile I will use my other headphones. If you can get them for a good price, by all mean get them they're great. They are comfy, good warranty and pretty good sound quality with strong bass. But, they're open and has poor isolation.

Do you guys know of any portable AKG's with good sound quality? Can I drive any of the larger ones w/o an amp, like the K172, K240 Studio, etc.? I really love the look of AKG's, especially the bigger ones. Any recommendations?

BTW, if they do require an amp, are there any cheap ones out there? I can go a little over my budget for such great-looking 'phones. (Hopefully *just* a little!)
