I have been having this impression for a long time, but only just now have I come to the desire to theorize this issue:
I notice that many of John Coltrane's records (CDs, I do not mean vinyls)from his bebop era (Blue Train, Giant Step, Village Live, etc as prominent examples) have a pretty "tizzy" cymbals, sometimes to the point of fatique in my system. Could this correlate to the different drummers he had at different period of his career (hence different drum set or mics)?
I am pretty ignorant on recording techniques and such, so please be patient with my questions.
