I found a pair of Sony SA5000 (used) for $180, should i get them
Mainly they would be driven without an amp, and i listen to drum and bass as well as rock
Are they portable

Not a bad price, I'd hop on it,  but you need some sort of amping.

they're not portable.
if you decide to pass on them, please let me know where this $180 price is. I'd like to give them a try.

Although that is a really good price for them, it really depends on if you like that sound signature. Some people judge(or pre-judge) headphones on how much they(retail) cost. I use to have that philosophy when I first entered into this hobby. But this is the wrong philosophy to have. I've purchased several headphones in the past that were really good deals based on what they retailed for and most of the times I've regretted it. I have heard 100.00 headphones that I've liked better than 450.00 headphones. If you have listened to them before and liked them I would say yes, jump on them. But I wouldn't jump on them blind not knowing what they sounded like just because it is a good deal.
