Who else is rocking a default set of headphones (the ones you seem to reach for over and over) even though they are cheaper and less "premium" than other sets in your collection?

For me, ever since I bought my Beyerdynamic DT-880/600, they get the majority of head time. The Monolith M1570 and Sennheiser HD660S are both arguably superior headphones (and certainly occupy a different price point) but somehow the Beyers just tick more boxes for me.

Bought a pair of akg k371 for my son. Happy to grab those every now and then (and then some) when sitting on the couch as opposed to getting up and going to my desktop setup to put on my susvaras.

There's not even a convenience delta in my case. All my headphones are right here at my fingertips:

Truthear Crinnacle Zero when switching DAC's around and just don't want to equalize anything. Also the Hifiman HE5xx is a good daily driver. At $45 for the Zero or $125 for open box on eBay for the He5xx I don't hesitate to grab them for testing stuff that comes in. Also since the HE5xx has balanced XLR and regular cables to testing amplifier jacks for function easily.

HD660S is my daily open-back driver. I really want to try the S2, but I think the 660S is quite the performer for only costing me $250 and it sounds great with just about everything you can throw at it.

Some time ago it was the AKG K553 II. Despite being a cheap pair of closed-backs, it has such pleasant tuning that it certainly doesn't feel that way. It's a bit harsh in the upper ranges, but I can forgive that for just how cheap it is. It's the HD600 of my lineup.

Grado SR80 connected to a Schiit Fulla. No external power and I put half-decent mini-mic on the line-in, equally at home listening, working, watching video, or on a conference call. Not much money either!
