So I bought a HP Pavilion DV6226US notebook today after much shopping, playing, and comparing specs. It was on sale at CC for $699 after rebates, and one of the things that swayed me in its direction was that it actually has an SPDIF optical output. This is NOT a common feature in PC notebook land, and given the usually horrid state of affairs where notebook sound is concerned I saw it as a BIG plus. I can take that digital out right into my DAC/amp and be in great shape, right? Right? Anyone out there who's using one of these puppies care to share their experience(s)? I haven't opened the box yet...
