I have a Sony Walkman NW-A55 and a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M40's.
Stay in my bedroom, I listen almost nightly to help fall asleep so, not dirty from being in pockets or backpacks. They are getting "scratchy" sounding, which I'm thinking is oxidation or something on the contacts.
Headphone male jack, no problem to clean that, but what is the safe way to clean the female input jack on the Sony?
I'm a pipe smoker and thought to fold a pipe cleaner in half, get it damp with contact cleaner and do that? Maybe a strip of 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper rolled up into a tube, bit of cleaner and gently spin that around inside the hole? Is there a special qtip you can get for this stuff?
