How much money has this 'place' influenced you to spend?

it never ends. although, for once i exhibited some self control today, for better or worse.

The victimizers of my wallet:

Grado RS-1
Grado SR-100
Grado SR-200
Etymotic ER-4S
Sony CD1700
Beyerdynamic DT231
Philips HP890
META42 with somewhat costly mini-RCA cable
Mapletree EAR+
Sony D-303
Sony D-777

something above $1500, just under $2000?

and soon...Philips DVD-963SA

V6s: $85
KSC-35s: $34 (for 2)
d-25s: $50

about $165 that I can directly attibute to this forum and Headwize over the last 2 years.

I figure about $150 in music over the same period.

Buying a house and car in the last 12 months has helped to keep this number low.

In the red? What are you, some kind of accountant? (one of my best friends was an accounting major before he got deported) I'm up to about $700 and counting.

New headphone buzz is temporary... credit card debt is forever.

I quit my sunglass addiction for this. My road bike (torelli stilleto, random record and dura ace built up) is dying for upgrades. But at least I got good music to ride to now.

High end bikes and components can easily surpass the amounts being discussed in this thread. My brother dropped $3200 on a Colnago C40 frame today. He's transferring his Dura Ace gruppo to the new frame.

Bikes used to be my obsession, before headphones, before PCs, before martial arts and before my son.

to us college students, this hobby might seem a bit excessive. but to a middle-aged working individual making average or above incom, this headphone business may provide the highest entainment factor to price ratio of any activities for leisure purposes. consider blowing $50,000 for a sports car. plus gas and insurance. and the point is to spend as much money as possible to enjoy the shortest possible ride from point A to point B. now that's a paradox. i'm not saying buying expensive cars is a waste of money, but relatively being an audiophile is WAY cheaper no matter how you go about to upgrading.

Home : 370$

senn HD580 : 110$
AKG K340 : 35$
Szekeres : 130$
philips cd723 : 55$
IC : +/- 40$

Portable (even if it is not really triggered by this forum): 40$

expanium 103 : 20$
modded koss plug : 10$
koss ksc50 : 10$

But if you look in my profile at all the stuff i've tried and resold, I probably lost about 50-60$ in shipping and so on (perhaps more, I don't wanna know).

That all depends on the type of cans you're taliking about. Most men buys cars hoping get some cans.
