You know, speaking of that....I was visiting my relatives in Austria once, and my uncle got out a newspaper article he was reading. It was talking about a group of skinhead neo-nazis who were marching in front of the capital in Washington DC. He thought it was unbelievable, since in Austria it is against the law for racist groups to demonstrate. I guess the first amendment is both a blessing and a curse.

You did the only thing you can do, since a ****punch doesn't work over the phone, and you can fantasize about knocking sense into these morans, but it never works. Stupid is as stupid does.

Skinheads are the dumbest of all - an entire racist movement based on ... a SKA song! Yeah, real brainiacs there. (yes I know there are non-racist skinheads, I'm referring to the ones you see more often when you do see them).

The most racist work-related experience I had was when working for this idiot who ran 3 or 5 driving schools across a few states. He was talking about someone in the community that was popular - and he said "You know, he's Jewish." I asked how that related to the story and he just shifted around and didn't make eye contact. Looser.

Sorry you had to go through this experience, remember he is the one with the problem not you.

If he ever threatened you then easy, file a police report on the caller using his phone number as an ID, the police would then have to track it down.

Also if you have the phone number use the reverse service from ATT and find out if it belongs to a business. If it does call and ask for the HR Department and file a grievance, this would be even better if you had a recording.

Man the worst Racists i dealt with at the grocery store where the people pulling "the race card" on me..calling me a racists yet they were the racists..

I don't care if your link card goes threw, I don't care if it does not..
I just want three things here and now, 1 the money for the groceries, 2. you to be happy, and 3. you get out of the line so i can ring up more people and make more money and make more people happy...
has nothing to do with the color of your skin, sex,or even better what you are wearing..all i want is those three things..

then you always hear the "well it's because I am black" line...

even when I became a manager I would look at them and just walk away..really someone who uses race as a way to get something or worse yet calling me a racists is really giving me no choice..kind of like trying to rationalize with a drunk...it will never happen, it can not happen.

just walk away and if they start getting louder then call security and have them asked out.

"them" is the people that used the race thing with me..

Just smile and ignore them because nothing annoys these people so much. Innerly, forgive them because they don't know any better.

Not a good idea imo. It's same as saying that there are limits to the freedom of expression. The question is where you draw those limits. In the liberal tradition, they have been put at the point where speech becomes a threat to others (hence child pornography is rightly banned; so is the proverbial shouting of “Fire” in a crowded theatre - at least if it is false). It's a slippery slope (and one that the current EU legislation is seriously contemplating).

Unfortunately, you can't beat it into them either.

I can understand a persons anger when someone says that there job was stolen by an illegal, but I don't understand the logic behind "that legal immigrant with a valid social security card and green card stole my job". No they didn't, they have a right to that job, just like you.

I once had a guy tell my dad that "they shouldn't allow immigrants to purchase hotels". The stupidity spoken by angry people is simply appauling at times.

Surprisingly, I have no Canadian accent. When I first moved to the US and went to school, after telling classmates that I was from Canada, they all listened to my speak carefully, and it annoyed them that I didn't say "eh" and "aboot".

I do have a "fake" southern accent. I don't know why I do it, but if I am engaged in a conversation with a person that has a southern accent, it just comes out of me.

It was a joke. The dude called up, and said his name was George Washington, which I think is hilarious. He probably isn’t even racist, he is just trying to get a rise out of you. Let it slide, go have your favorite drink, and forget it.
