How do I get rid of the hiss in the Sennheiser IE8?

If I use this adapter and add some impedance to my IE8s, will they stop hissing? They pretty much have a soft hiss no matter what source I plug them into.

Yes that will do the trick but you will also have to turn up the volume to compensate for the added resistance. If your using an amp it may actually make them sound better though. Don't ask me to explain how as I just don't have enough technical understanding and jargon to explain it properly but the added resistance allows more of the current in the amp to be used which can help accent the sound or something to that effect.

IME adding impedance will stop hissimg, but can also affect the sound signature. Those IE8 may well become more bassy, which is not a thing I'd want with mine.
