It is the same as fine wine I am sure.  At first just getting a buzz off cheap wine is good enough, then we want to move up in the world and when we find something that first introduces us to the next thing we can afford we fall in love.  Then we are satisfied for a bit and don't even realize that there could be more to enjoy until a real aficionado pulls us in further.

I was thinking the same thing last week, when I read some state their Koss75 sounded as good as Senn HD650's. I own both, and can say that the Koss don't even approach the Senn in any way.
