Sorry, not sure where to post this, but here goes.
I want to really just stick with one top end custom, but I can be more flexible with the rest of my chain. I want a setup that emphasizes mids. Instrument separation, detail retrieval, and clarity are next up. I don't care for soundstage. Budget is under $1000 total. I'm not buying now, I'm just brainstorming for the future. It should be a noticeable upgrade over the HM-601 I plan to use for portable use. If the amp only takes 1/4" headphones, an adaptor needs to be included within that $1000 budget.
I'll be hooking it all up to my computer, so any advice on what programs and plugins to use would be appreciated as well (using Windows 7 here).
Thanks
