Seems like hifiman may have introduced a new amp at the Guanzhou International Headphone Expo this weekend. Honestly, probably not all that compelling compared to the usual favourites for the Susvara, but still, its interesting I suppose.

"HIFIMAN, the leading brand in the domestic HIFI industry, will exhibit all its products at the exhibition site, especially the new flagship Svanar Swan, which is popular in Dongying. The custom-made fully balanced Class A amp Prelude will also make its world debut at the exhibition, which is worth looking forward to! Fans from Guangzhou and surrounding areas are welcome to come to the HIFIMAN booth for tasting experience."

Also, its for sale on Aliexpress, 6W into 64ohms.

Seems there is also a DAC/Amp version, which isn't associated with Hifiman

Fully differential architecture (probably like SUSY) with 4-gang alps blue pot with class A FET push/pull output stage. Case milled from a single billet of aluminum. Looks interesting.

Edit: never mind, not SUSY at all, looks like opamp based voltage amp stage. I could be wrong, but looks that way to me. Pass/reserve judgement until audition (if at all).

Edit2: looks like HFM is just putting their name on an OEM design. Yawn.

Hello all,
this close ordering the Susvara.

Are there any driver issues with the current run?
What serial numbers ballpark are new ones?
Is there any wait time?

Thanks!

No issues to speak of.

3.5mm connectors, from memory, replaced the 2.5 mm about 2 years ago

I just never had good vibes off the brand for some reason. The build quality to me was always just so jaw dropping considering the price people pay for them. They sound great though will not deny that.

greetings

tried so many amps, enleum amp 23r, nirvana, violectric 590, cfa and so on
Still I find all lacking a bit in dynamics and still gives me the desire to try more amps

on my list is now felix audio envy

i think I made a mistake selling my audeze lcd4

I think the answer is simple - Susvara might not be right for you. Not everyone likes every headphones. We all have some we love that others don't and vice versa.

Have you pad swapped? I find the ZMF Auteur solid pads (NOT the perf) to be really fun. Lots of weight to bass and dynamics while still being neutral. The Caldera (Thick) pads are also good, little wider stage but less meaty mid bass, though they go deeper I think. Still doing some A/B testing. I def recommend trying ZMF pads, they are of amazing quality, sound great and they folks over there are just so dang nice. I want a set of ZMF headphones after talking pads with the ZMF folks.

The CFA3 I built drives them to aplomb. There are lots of ways to build them but its capable of really stupid output power levels with the right power supply voltage and configuration. The CFA3 you tried, was it in super symmetry for zero feedback? What was the supply voltage? Was the input 2sk170/2js74 or the stock THAT340? What was the bias set to? Important to remember the CFA3 is a project so there are lot of choices!

With the Auteur pads and the CFA3, it has tons of dynamics and bass. Better than the 1000se I had which were easier to drive and def had plenty of bass (more of a v shaped tune).

Honestly, that's what I like about Susvara. They are very tunable, scale incredibly well.

Need to get you the 1266 to drive with CFA3!
