Very hard question, perhaps not better than H2 as H2 is certainly more universal in its compatibility with my iem but with the likes of k3003, fw10000, ier m9 R2r2000 equals or at times best H2(k3003 for example).

Only if it hissed less at the gain setting I use, R2r2000 would have been perfect for me.

No it doesn't but with acs emotion on anything but super low gain it does.
To be honest the super low setting makes R2r2000 hiss free but at the cost of dynamic range and overall detail.
Super LOW gain enhance vocal at cost of micro detail retrieval.

Im sure you dont eq, and previous Hifiman had no eq, and many daps have very bad eq. Does the r2r have eq ?

Sounds like it might not work with most of the Campfire Audio, Empire Ears, or 64 Audio iems.

It worked well with N8 and Trio, yet to try with others. But in super low gain it works with everything.

Yes, there is some hiss on high and low gain but does it really bother you?
This is not at extreme level and I thought Solaris matches quite well. In fact, Solaris
is the only iem I can enjoy with r2r2k.

Hifiman R2R2000 is still my best match to my Empire Legend X. Never had any hiss to worry about. Hiss is the least of your worries when it comes to this 'dap'
