re600 is probably better then the er4 , but they are very different sonic-wise
on the other hand , instead of buying a er4 , search for a used re-272 - much cheaper and better than the er4

ER4S + good warm amp = perfect. Everything perfect.
RE600 are good even without amp, but they are not so analytical-clinical-natural sounding.
My vote for amped ER4S.
As for ER4P, so RE600 wll be better.
And yes, they are quite different.
RE272 is more to Etymotic side.
