Just a quick heads up for owners of the W1000x that the leather (and I suppose the velour) pads from Hifiman will fit.
I really wanted to change out the stock pads which were a crime against humanity and I didn't want to shell out $100 for L3000 pads like other people have done. I can't really comment on the sound vs stock, but I didn't really notice any significant change in anything. Comfort-wise it's leaps and bounds ahead of the god awful stock pads.
Note: it is a tight fit, you have to remove the plastic mounting ring and the foam ring.
