I just received my New H.F.MAN 901+Balanced Card. I cant see any Connector to use my FiiO E12 Mont Blanc External Amplifier ! so the Double 3,5 cable can not be used !

Sorry to hear that. What headphones are you planning on driving? To my experience the HM-901 + balanced card can drive the majority of headphones. HE-6 might struggle a bit though... Congrats on your purchase, i've been enjoying the HM-901 very much since I got it last month.

To me, and I think for many, one of the main reasons of getting the HM-901 is that it's a one-box solution: you don't need an external amp or DAC/amp. The line out cable they provide is for use with desktop/home amps.

Hi Lieon,
the Customers Service said that i can use their HM-901 Line out Dock Cable.

Yes, you can use that but that bypass the Balanced Card and I doubt that the Fiio could be close to the sound quality of the HiFiMan's card. Of course you can try but I think that in that case you should look for an high profile external amp.

I agree. The 901 is powerful to drive most iems, and with the minibox amp card, even difficult to drive cans. That's why I have the 901 and 802: to move away from stack fi. :)

+1. The SQ of the 901 is hard to beat and there's an amp card for every occasion. :)

Unless you are going to a very good desktop amp I doubt there is a reason to bypass the amp in the 901.

Hi guys, was wondering what exactly does the HD/Vintage switch do? I can't seem to hear a difference :/ If I may say (and I'm really straining my ears), vintage sounds like the treble has been cut off a bit and HD seems to have more clarity on the treble? But honestly, if I had left the switch on Vintage I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference :/

Yup I think you just described the differences perfectly. It would be a subtle change to most, depending on how sensitive to treble one would be.

Hi Fermelon, after days earinf the 901+Balanced Card, using The Grado 225i Headphones and comparing to my H.M 801 + fIIo E12 Mont Blanc, Ampli, I must admit that the 901 Balanced has a much better sound .
So if the HM-901 Line out Dock Cable will bypass the Balanced Card,I will not use.
