The Adcom GFA 535 is still my top choice but even for it's small size, it's still too big on the table with all the other gear.  I came across the Furman SP20AB in my searches and everything seems right.  Size, XLR ins, volume control, 20w @ 4ohms.  Only thing is I can't seem to find any real info on this thing, just the Furman's print copied on every site.  Can't even tell if it's a class D amp which it may be.

If you want something small with high output for it size then take a look at this:

Interesting discussion about these needing current - and something I have heard with my own ears

How do you determine if an amp can provide enough (current) ?

Dr. Fang is taking a well deserved vacation with his wife in the land where the water is turquoise and the trees have coconuts on them, after finishing the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), and previous to that, working 18 hours a day, finishing his thesis for his doctorate, and running back and forth to China, finishing 5 new hi-end products. If he didn't answer you, there's a damn good reason for it. If you have a defective product, they will send you another one.

i am thinking in buying a 30 watts per channel in 8 ohms Class A amplifier to have another option to drive my HE-6
Do you guys think that will be enough? I think 30 watts in 8 ohms is around 5 watts in 50 ohms.

Today I received my Red Wine Audio Signature 30.2 integrated battery powered home speaker amp, and it drives the HE-6's effortlessly at 10:00.

Thanks for the information. Then what I am looking at should work fine.

^Good question that I hope someone can help us with. I'm just now grappling with that. I'm thinking of picking up a Peachtree Decco to be a nice all-in-one unit for my HE-6, and it is rated at 50wpc at 8ohms. I'm sure it will work better than what I'm running right now, but if I'm going out of my way for speaker taps I'd like to have a good idea that they'd be well mated speaker taps as well.

Knowing whether or not uses a high current output rather than lots of voltage is a tough call. I know that BAT, Adcom and Cary all pride themselves on using high current. I guess you would have to look at and understand the white paper topography and designs of each amp, or go by the words of others. The RWA Sig 30.2 is a perfect match but it is $2500 if you want the integrated.
I spoke to hiflight on the phone for an hour, who found that his Virtue amps gave him the same results and cost almost half the price of the RWA, but Vinnie is my friend and I paid for the amp in November and I always wanted RWA battery powered amp, and I am a man of my word, so I stuck with the purchase.
I am enamored by it's ability to power the Harbeths and the HE-6's so I'm not crying over spilt milk. The 30.2 is an amazing unit and it's battery powered with a tube output so it keep you off the grid:

RWA's  Signature 30.2, i am getting a good deal on them (second hand, but cautiously used ) , and my HE6 are coming ( i too have not heard a word after paying though ) . I was looking at the Leben CS300xs (costs around 3500 Here in india, )
Have you heard the leben by any chance.
I need comparisons , reviews say  both are absolutely awesome )

I was supposed to have my HE-6 this last Friday but the UPS contract station here on Pohnpei was too lazy to go and get them at the airport and I can't pick them up there. I then spoke to them on Sat., as they were in and they promised they would get them, they didn't, they went home instead. I am going to contact UPS about this as the contract station does what in convenient for them. It is a 5 minute trip to the airport (small island) but they only had that one package since Friday and don't want to bother. Jerks.

Actually, due to Skylabs's reviews on the Leben, Had I already not committed to the 30.2 the Leben would have been my choice. But, unless you spend the extra coin on the 600SX, you only get 15 w.p.c on the CS300xs and that makes a big difference for the 2 needs that I had. The Harbeths are much happier with the extra 15 w.p.c. rms.
The Leben is really vintage looking and got great reviews, but it's not 30 watts and it's not off the grid. I live in a 60 y.o. apartment with crappy power.

A small price to pay for living in paradise. I bet they wear brown shorts, too.

The brown shorts would be cute but no cigar. They often stick the package in the trunk of their car where it is sometimes forgotten for a day or two for anyone to break into and steal. It ain't no paradise here. Hot, humid and 300 inches of rain a year. :^)

DHL tried to deliver mine yesterday but nobody was home. I called the office and they told me the driver would be back around 6:30pm (they close the office at 7:30pm). I got there to pick them up right at 6:30pm. The driver was not back yet and they called them in the radio. It was a replacement driver and it was going to slow so he was not comning back to the office but until 8:00pm (after they close) so I had to forget about playing with them over the weekend and wait for them to re-deliver on Monday...

My previous experience with Electrostatic, Electromagnetic or very low sensitivity speakers like the big old ADS M20 and M30 is that they require a lot of current to drive them properly. That is why amplifiers design by Nelson Pass (like Threshold, Pass, Adcom 555, etc) are good for them since they are high current. I saw back in the late 80s early 90s a 500 watts per channel going to clipping driving the ADS M20 because it did not have the right current output.

ADS M30's are my dream speakers.  I have two regrets in audio and that is not buy the R10 and M30 when a retailer had them on sale.  I love the ADS sound especially the tweeters.  Driving a speaker with one big amp is the wrong way to drive them.  They need to be tri-amped and each amplifier matched to synergy of the driver.  Today I am still using the ADS SAT6 and SUB12.  The SAT6 is bi-amped, Onkyo M-504 for the tweeter and Counterpoint Solid One for the mids.

You can't unless you measure it using different loads.

I think the ears work just fine.

Don't the States have Saturday delivery? Or is that just USPS

I don't think they truly know the feeling

FWIW mine are in Cincinnati... hope to get them Monday or Tuesday and that my phoenix can drive them as using my speaker amp will be a PITA

At least yesterday I received back my DX1000 from Aphroditecu29 with the new Zeus OCC 22awg copper in balanced mode with Furutech XLRs. They were very good but IMO now they are excellent. The honkey sound in the midrange (voices) is gone, the bass is tighter and to total clarity increased. Another change is in the soundstage which got deeper. Playing with them now
