Took advantage of the latest Adorama deal on the V3 @ $299. Excited, but a question - My current setup is a Topping D30/A30 stack. Sounds great with my HD6XX, but does anyone have experience with that stack + the HE-560? I think I'm going to make the swap for the Burson v5i opamp soonish, if anyone has additional feedback there.

FINALLY!!!!

Got the 3rd return back in. I can't tell if it's a v2 or v3, but assuming it's a v3 at this point. That being said. No more massive crinkle/crackle when moving my head while wearing these. HOORAY! They are like my other planar in that when I initially seat them on my ears there is a little crinkle sound sometimes, but that is it. Nothing when I move now unlike before.

Just plugged them in and listening now. No channel imbalance. Very nice sounding. A little more treble/mid sparkle than the 4xx I was just listening too. Not so much extra sparkle that would make them fatiguing at all. I have other headphones that do have to much sparkle that make them fatiguing though. Going to enjoy them now.

A few days ago I impulse bought a new set of headphones! HE-560 v3. Last night they showed up and after a few hours listening, they're really blowing me away. Everything I liked about my 400i is here, with the detail retrieval of my AFC and more texture than either of them.

I've ordered the HE-560v3 out of curiosity. Glad to hear at least someone loving theirs already. I'm looking forward to mine, will look into EQing the bass and dip in mids if they're as bad as people said before in this thread but I have a feeling these will sound just out of the box.

My last planars were used Alpha Primes which I loved but they attracted too much attention to wear out of home lol, these 560's will be my first HiFiman :) :)

Hi everyone.
I'm really happy with my HE-560, but from some weeks now, i'm wondering if they are driven correctly. I have a Teac UD-503 which outputs 500+500mW on 32 ohms in unbalanced mode and 700+700mW on a balanced mode which requires a cable with double 1/4" plug. So i started figuring out what to do and i came to two options:
1) sell the teac and buy an audioGD NFB 28.38. The dac on the audioGD is considerably worse but the amp section far better. (i can't pair an additional amp to my teac because of space and money)
2) buy a balanced cable specific for the teac and take advantage of ud-503's full power.
what do you think?
