Perhaps they would.
 
The Fulla 2 can work as a stand alone amp via the line input as well as a small footprint DAC/amp. The Schiit Magni Uber or even the Vali 2 may also work.
 
Just offering the poster another option.

Thing is that the Full will deliver a little less than 360 mW to the HE-500's. I'm the last to demand excessive wattage, however, I don't think the Fulla is just right for the HE-500's, unless one listens at low volumes.

@Gayron wants to use an HE-500 and that amp is not up to the task.

I have the Vali2 as well and I agree that the 500's do sound good with it but IMO the more powerful balanced Jot asserts more authoritative control of these headphones.

I'll give it more time since the Jot is a new arrival in my setup.
 
I have Bimby/Jot at home and the Mimby/Vali 2 at work.
 
I feel that the Jot takes away some of the romantic sounding qualities of the 500 even though it may be the technically better amp.  It comes down to personal taste here, I think.  
 
The 650s, on the other hand, are pretty magical with the Jot pushing them.

That's awesome, it appears that we have identical setups including headphones. I am in total agreement that the Jot/Bimby setup is phenomenal withe the 650. It's been a little while since I listened to the 500's with the Mimby /Vali2 rig so I decided to refresh my memory...listening to them as I write this...and you're quite right the warm tube sound does "tame" the 500's in a very pleasant way.

I use a FiiO X5ii as my source, you?

I was thiking to get an xduoo xd-05 and in a second time an tube amp  like vali2 or project amber.  What did you think about this plan ?
