I wonder why he560 when the other one is HE400i and not HE460? Hifiman needs an upgrade program so I can upgrade my HE500 to an HE560

An upgrade program would be a very smart idea IMO. It has had great success with MrSpeakers and I'm sure everyone would appreciate it if HiFiMaN did that as well.

I just bought my HE-500 last month! hmmm....I have until the 31st to return them. Bring the 560's to the Austin meet!

I only care about the pads tbh. I have no interest in the headband, as the current headband is perfectly fine and is better aesthetically...
Though I will have a pair of Jergpads pretty soon, and wonder how they will compare with the new pads. Would be interesting if they're better!

If the HE-560 does indeed have an electrostatic signature to it, then it would be far opposite from the HE-500 signature, especially a speaker amp driven one. In that case, I'm sure the two would complement each other well rather than compete.

That's what I was thinking too

Will the bass be on par with LCD-2/3?

A 3d soundstage unlike he500?
