Just picked up a new HEKV2SE (released earlier this month). I usually don't buy things until reviews come out but it was worth the risk at around 2,000 USD

Probably going to sell the Arya V2 and Clear OG if I like this new HEK.

curious about the model number you posted.... does the box say HE1000V2 Stealth.... or does it say HE1000 Stealth ....

Sorry I said ""picked up" but I haven't received it yet.

I have pictures of the listing though, and it says HE1000 on the box with a Stealth Magnet sticker. It doesn't come with the fancier packaging anymore... in fact it's the same packaging as the HE400se which is like $150?

I'm just asking because some are calling it the HE1000V2 Stealth but we haven't seen any official release saying there is going to be a V2 stealth.... so far we are seeing HE1000 Stealth.... there is a post over on reddit that shows pics of the new stealth version.... hifiman web site is also showing HE1000 Stealth for $1900.... this model could get very very close to the Susvara in sound sig and easier to drive... can't wait to see the reviews

I think people are calling it a V2 Stealth because it looks like a V2. But the official name for it is HE1000 Stealth.

I'm also very curious on how it sounds, but for now we'll have to figure out a good abbreviation for it lol

Yes very confusing indeed. The Susvara is also stealth magnets. Arya V3 is stealth. Im glad I have the V2 so far(non stealth)

This is getting interesting... at least one youtube reviewer is saying the new Arya Steath in certain respects sounds/plays better than the Susvara when all things are considered.. The Arya being more fun to listen to, but the Susvara still better in ways that makes the Susvara the King... So with that in mind I'm very much interested in the comparison of the Arya Stealth -> HE1000 Stealth -> Susvara Stealth Makes you wonder what the heck they are doing... the Arya is $1300 the HE1000S is $2000 and the Susvara is $6000
I wouldn't be too happy if I just bought the HE1000se at $3500 ....

At least we know it's almost as efficient to drive as the Arya Stealth. That's good news to me.

I think a perfect DAC/AMP pairing with Aryva is a R2R. It gives Arya some more body/texture. Delta Sigma can make it sound harsh in the highs.

Does anyone know if the Topping DX5 has enough power to drive the non-stealth version of the Arya single ended?

I can't find the single-ended specs on the DX5 anywhere, but balanced it does 1.8W into 32ohms and 1W into 64ohms.

The non-stealth Arya has a sensitivity of 90dB and an impedance of 35ohms.

Using a headphone power calculator, to achieve 140dB (which I'm guessing is probably needed just for some headroom for quieter recordings) it looks like you would need 100W to drive the Arya to that level?

I'm guessing that the DX5's single-ended output is half as powerful as its balanced output (I know it's not always that simple) so it looks like it only outputs 0.9W single-ended into 35ohms when I need 100W?

Both outputs of the DX5 are rated at the same power, meaning both are unbalanced. It has the same power as the DX3Pro+ that I tried with my Arya V2. To answer your question, it got loud enough, but it sounded like s**t.

Thanks. It sounded s**t because it was underpowered, or just because it was poor synergy/a bad sounding amp?

Can't say, but given that folks have had success with bigger Topping amps like the A30 pro and A90, it was probably underpowered. Sounded very lean and the trebles got unbearably harsh at higher volumes.
