I am considering buying a pair of headphones. I'm thinking closed back, low to moderate impedance, around $250.
 
So far I am looking at AKG 271 mkII and Ultrasone HFI-780.
 
Any thoughts on these, and/or similar/better choices?

maybe we should have a sticky which reminds people to state what they listen to, whether its portable etc...
 
 
Try the beyerdynamic dt770s as well.
 
You would have more options if you didn't mind open cans though. If you use it at home it would be ok.

My uses include listening to music, mostly classic rock, and movies. The equipment I will be plugging them into include an ipod, mac, and amp (for 2 channel speakers).
 
I don't really mind having to buy a headphone amp, and/or dac, but I would like to power them with a cmoy amp when traveling with them, which I probably will be doing.
